The vision of Thrive is to see women ministering overseas thriving in their God-given purpose. A recent study revealed that one out of 14 workers leaves their agency each year and 2/3 of those leave for potentially preventable reasons. In order to thrive, these women need restoration in every aspect of their being.

K returned to the US after a difficult final six months in her assignment. She was barely holding it together and had totally shut down. Her only goal was to be restored. After a few days of rest, good food, fellowship, new clothes and a new haircut, she felt like “the real me” was finally starting to emerge. She is smiling for the first time in months.

This year, several women are returning for their second or third Thrive retreat, and have brought a friend. Thrive’s all-encompassing ministry helps them feel cherished. Two were particularly encouraged to attend by their husbands. These husbands understood what a difference a few days away could make.

Our amazing God has orchestrated just the perfect connections for some. One family is in the US just a few short weeks, but their son needed some special testing. Where to turn? The mom asked for prayer in her small group and later went for counseling. God had sent her to a counselor who lived in the same town where this family was staying, and the counselor knew a Christian specialist who may be able to help.

The main feature of this final evening is a fashion show, where the women show off new outfits (including shoes and jewelry), pretty toes, new hairstyles and radiant countenances, a result of rest, prayer, and counseling. The evening was filled with joy and laughter as they rediscovered how much they are treasured by their Father.
