The excitement is building. From South Carolina to California, Texas to Wisconsin, 26 women arrived in Beaver Creek, Colorado on June 25th. Former volunteers greeted old friends, and seven women joined us for the first time. Why are we here? To provide the encouragement needed for global workers, who will soon arrive, through spiritual, emotional and physical refreshment so that they can THRIVE and to remind these women they are treasured daughters of the King.
The volunteers come from all walks of life, backgrounds and ages. Here are two of them.
This is Kate’s first time at a Thrive retreat. She was invited to apply by her friend who is a seasoned Thrive volunteer. She is excited to be here, but also admits she has taken a huge step of faith in coming. Kate knows her life experiences may be very different from those of the women she will be ministering to, but she is trusting that the Lord will equip her to serve well.
Dorothy is a veteran volunteer. She stays busy with ministry at home but makes time to attend the Thrive Colorado retreat on a regular basis. Dorothy loves how Thrive calls the volunteers to a time apart to be filled and refreshed by the Spirit of God, so that we can then pour into others. She has seen many examples of how God orchestrates circumstances to provide just the right volunteer for the right attendee. She said she has been to many other retreats over the years, but this Thrive retreat is one that is consistently done with excellence.
These are just two of the amazing women who have come to minister to cross-cultural women serving around the world. Please pray for us as the Lord knits us into a team for His purposes.
