We all know that God knows how many hairs we have on our heads and that He knows when the sparrow falls and that He is the God Who Sees. But occasionally, He does things to show us the truth of His intentional care in vivid color.

Imagine how it felt for a global worker serving in Ireland to enjoy the opening evening of worship music, prayer, and laughter at a retreat in Rome. Imagine how it felt for her to leave that large group gathering to join her small group. Now imagine how it felt for her to sit down only to realize that the woman next to her was her dear college friend – just the person she needed to have time with! Imagine her joy at knowing God had brought this friend all the way from Morocco so that they could reunite after being separated for 17 years! Imagine the deep comfort and care she felt. They had survived college together, been bridesmaids together, and then traveled separate roads for so long. But now, at the exact time she needed someone who really knew her, God had caused their paths to cross again. Imagine encountering such obvious evidence that He orders our steps.

How we rejoice in the reminders that He is faithful and His steadfast love endures forever! And these living color reminders will have enduring effects! Interventions such as this will lift and carry global workers once they are back in the rigors of global ministry. Encounters like this will bring renewed confidence that, indeed, He orders our steps.
