On July 9, thirty-one women from across the U.S. converged on Beaver Creek, CO. Their purpose? To bring refreshment and encouragement to women who serve overseas so that they may THRIVE when they return to the work they do.
These volunteers come from all walks of life and life experiences. Who are these volunteers and what draws them to serve?
This is Rene’s first venture on a Thrive retreat. She’s been encouraged and challenged for several years by a pair of veteran volunteers to try this experience. Large group settings have intimidated her, but she has chosen to trust the Lord to work in and through her, as she is part of the very personal self-care team providing pedicures.
Karen has been consistent to serve at the CO retreats for the past 5 years. She heard about Thrive from a friend who had a sister that attended a retreat and was incredibly impacted. She has discovered her niche in serving these women in unexpected ways. She has shared many stories of how God has personally blessed different attendees during the retreat.
These are just two of the many amazing women that are giving their time and service to bless cross-cultural women, that are serving throughout the world. Ordinary women just like us that face transitions, heartache, fears, disappointments, and teammate or family challenges. This next week, these women will be able to turn off and just be His daughters. Loved for who He tells them they are, and not just for what they do or how they perform. Pray for divine appointments with each woman and their Daddy.
